Precision mechanical assembly
Often with a similar number of parts to a PCB assembly, many complex mechanical assemblies demand similarly high levels of skill, precision, accuracy and consistency to their electronic counterparts. JJS staff are highly skilled in this kind of work, including testing of mechanical and pneumatic assemblies. Tight control of the material supply chain ensures that as with electronic parts, the availability of mechanical parts is scheduled for timely production.
Lean manufacturing principles
Quality controlled production lines incorporate lean principles with interactive electronic documentation, works instruction and variant management. Operating 24 hour replenishment through a KanBan-based ‘pull’ system, mechanical assemblies can be produced to live demand. Bar-code tracking provides real time operator/variant/ progress data. JJS provides a Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) service for customers where line-side stock is maintained.
Electrical assembly
Electrical wiring of switch and instrument panels is an essential element in the manufacture of many of our customers’ systems and machines, involving yet another set of skills which JJS has continued to develop over the years. This work entails the same standards of accuracy and consistency associated with our PCB and mechanical assembly work.
Software control
Uploading, verifying and execution of control software is carried out within the scope of a robust revision control system. JJS can provide historical records of both hardware and software revisions for specific products and/or end user.
